[RFCI-Discuss] Bogus MX Checking

You might recall at one point in this thread I reiterated my "put your
code-writing where your mouth is" mindset... the "patches welcome"
which many open source projects have as their mantra.

Jeff Makey did so. While he didn't write all the code in the new and
revised "CheckMX" perl package, the "guts" are certainly inspired by
what he sent me over as code fragments.

In all of the initial testing I've done on this end, it functions as a
drop-in replacement for the "old" package, but operates :
	(a) a little faster,
	(b) more closely follows the resolution algorithm described in
RFC1034/5.3.3 than the code I had written.

So... everyone should feel free to try your favorite "this doesn't
work, damn it!" domain, and see if it works now. PLEASE be on the
lookout for bugs. Like I said, I've tested it against a bunch of
cases, both real and contrived, (there's a whole subdomain of my
megacity.org domain which has nothing but RFCI bogusmx test cases
sitting in it for testing various failure modes).... and so far, it's
done really well. But "real world / live" testing is a far cry from
that....

Cheers,
D
