Agreed. It's important to remember that -- especially in this case --  
it's not a "moral judgement" of any sort. There are perfectly  
legitimate reasons to use proxy services (for instance, a web site  
run by/for dissidents of an oppressive regime), and completely evil  
reasons (to hide your spamhaus).

My gut tells me from reading the comments to this thread that -- by  
and large -- my original position is the tack to take. That being  
that from the standpoint of the RFCs, the proxy service -- by  
becoming the "Registrant" (which is synonymous with "Domain Name  
Holder" in this context) -- becomes the entity whose data must be  
accurate in the contact database.

So... so long as writing, e-mailing, or phoneing them reaches the  
Registrant proxy service, the domains are in fact RFC-compliant.

Unless someone else has a compelling argument to the contrary?
