There is no requirement for subdomains to maintain valid postmaster@ and
abuse@ mailboxes,
thus I believe any such submission gets rejected by RFCI (at least mine have
always been in the past)
even when such subdomains have different NameServers, MX, whatever.

(for instance, lack of postmaster at math.university.edu and
abuse at math.university.edu are rejected submissions)

I guess a pointer at a RFC contradicting the above is needed to change the
policy.
